Sekai Project held a panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2015 and announced six new titles, including localizations of both Japanese commercial and doujin titles, as well as some original English language visual novels.

WAGAMAMA HIGH SPEC
Release Date: 2016
Official Site [English]
Official Site [Japanese] [NSFW]

“Madosoft’s latest project coming out spring 2016 is WAGAMAMA HIGHSPEC. You’re a romantic comedy manga author and one day due to an unexpected turn of events. The student council president Rokuonji Kaoruko discovers his secret. However she’s the manga’s artist….She promises to keep it a secret and in exchange he joins the student council.”

This is the announcement I’m most excited about. Wagamama High Spec is scheduled for release in Japan on April 28, 2016 – will we be seeing the first simultaneous release in both Japanese and English for a commercial eroge?

Japanese High School Life
Release Date: Spring 2016
Official Site

“You’re a foreign exchange student who is filled with anxiety and excitement as your dream of living in Japan is finally becoming a reality! Get ready to meet the diligent and good-natured girls that will be spending a majority of your time with you. It is going to be one crazy-fun year!”

Japanese High School Life will apparently be Sekai Project’s first original IP, which suggests that they’re branching out from just doing localization. It looks like it’ll be in the same vein as Go! Go! Nippon and Tokyo School Life. The foreigner-in-Japan trope has been done before, but if they can pull off a fresh angle then it should be a fun read, plus I love the character designs.

Darekoi
Release Date: TBA
Official Site [Japanese]

“Oriibu Village

That was the name of this town, as well as this world.
This otherworldly town has a nostalgic, retro-like flavor.
For ages, it has prospered, and continues to prosper without end.
Every corner of the place is bustling with people, and warmth.
It is both old-fashioned, yet refreshingly new.

Neither magic nor spells exist here, but there is an aura of mystique.
How long has it been since I, Yumesaki Haruki, have come to this world?

It feels like it’s been a few days. But it also feels like it’s been over a year.
There is the passing of the day into night, back into day.
However, you don’t feel the passage of time beyond that.
The flowers that have once blossomed continue to stay in full bloom.”

This doujin title has lovely art and a nice, soft atmosphere.

Highway Blossoms
Release Date: TBA

“Developed by Alienworks, Highway Blossoms is a short yuri story set in the American Midwest. After an old gold rush miner’s journal is discovered, a nationwide craze begins as would-be prospectors try to solve the cryptic clues it contains and discover the miner’s hidden treasure. Amber, couldn’t care less. Wandering the Midwest in an inherited motorhome, she mourns the loss of her grandfather, totally unaware of the hunt taking place around her. It’s not until she meets Marina, a young hitchhiker wandering through the deserts of New Mexico, that things start to look up.”

An original English language visual novel from the group behind The Human Reignition Project that seems like it will be voice acted. I like the premise of the story, and it looks like it’ll be a short and sweet yuri experience.

The Orchard of Stray Sheep
Release Date: TBA
Official Site [Japanese]

“Yamada Ichirou, a negative, self-proclaimed piece of trash, finds himself appointed as a teacher of an innocent and naive girl, Casserole. What secrets await him at this small, secluded island academy?”

Another doujin title with gorgeous art. The suggestion of secrets is tantalizing, but I don’t really know what to expect. I’ve downloaded the demo to give it a try.

Yume no Sono
Release Date: TBA
Official Site [English]

“Running away from the insanity of their own worlds, Iris Stella Marinari, and Tomii Reika always took refuge within their dreams. Stranded by the waves of time, they meet each other at the outskirts of the ghost town of Sumaq Urqu, the legendary City of the Lost Ones.
It has been said that one cannot cross the dream passage to Sumaq Urqu alone, so Iris and Reika must venture together into this mysterious city. Along the way the two will attempt to find the truth behind the disappearance of Reika’s mother and may also uncover horrors that have been sealed away by The Architect, the entity in control of Sumaq Urqu.”

Another original English language title and there isn’t much info out on this one yet. I’m not sure what it’ll be like, but I’ll give it a try when it’s out!

Sekai Project are really on a roll lately! This is an interesting and varied collection of titles and I’ll be looking forward to playing them once they’re available.
